Episode 249: How to do influencer marketing that works!
Should you pay influencers to use your products? If so, which ones?
Definitely use influencers to help with marketing! But do your due-diligence in finding great influencers to partner with your brand.
What to look for when you’re researching influencers:
– Big enough to have an impact
– Not so big that they are out of reach (or too expensive)
– Relevant to your brand
– Highly engaged (deep comments vs vanity metrics)
Work with 5-10 killer (great fit) influencers rather than 1 huge one or 50 meh ones. Once you’ve identified them, become friends with them. Be a highly engaged follower for at LEAST a month (better if it’s three) before you get anywhere near the ask. It’s better to have a friend wearing your shirts or touting your product than an unknown entity.
